What To Wear Over Winter Break

As most of us approach finals week and a few lucky ones are already done for the semester, it's time to think about going home for the holidays. I'm looking forward to decorating my Christmas tree with my family, sipping hot cocoa with friends at a cafe, hitting up some neighborhood bars, and snuggling by the fireplace and catching up on all the episodes of Gossip Girl and 90210 that I've missed.

As we all anticipate this relaxing and much-needed break, here are some outfit ideas for what to wear during certain occasions over winter break. It might also give you an idea of what you need to pack.

Winter break is the perfect time to catch up with your high school friends as most people return home for the holidays. This outfit incorporates many of this years trends - pastel, fur, and cropped - and you'll be sure to impress with your sense of style.

Family reunions means exchanging presents with your aunts and uncles and long dinners with grandparents who are concerned about your grades and nieces who run around the house with boundless energy. Go for a "good girl" look to calm your grandparents' nerves and also dress comfortably so you can chase after all the children in your extended family. This adorable sweater dress paired with tights and legwarmers is super comfy yet stylish, too.

New Years Eve Party

New Year's Eve is the time to go all out - and this sparkly, plunge dress is sure to make you the center of attention. It's sexy yet not trashy, and paired with some simple pumps, a gunmetal clutch, and some floral accessories, you certainly won't need to worry about finding a New Year's kiss.

Sometimes,  there's nothing better than snuggling by the fireplace with some hot  chocolate and a good book. Stay warm and comfortable at home with some  thick leggings, a loose tank, a chunky knit cardigan, and my winter  favorite - slipper booties.
